Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Telemetry position requiring 2 years of relevant experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

• Acute care MedSurg/Telemetry unit setting
• MedSurg patient ratio of 1:5 and Telemetry patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and other MedSurg/Tele diagnoses

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
• 2 years of recent RN experience in MedSurg/Telemetry required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• Previous EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Competent in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• LTAC experience preferred
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver holistic, individualized nursing care including assessment, planning, and evaluation for MedSurg/Telemetry patients
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and transitions of care
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff as needed
• Accurately document patient care in the electronic health record
• Maintain patient safety and confidentiality in accordance with hospital policy
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before reapplying as a travelers
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not considered for this role
