Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in acute care nursing, stepdown nursing, or telemetry settings is helpful
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Strong ability to monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in condition quickly
• Experience titrating IV drips in a monitored care or intermediate care setting
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts with weekend rotation
• Ability to adapt to a busy patient census and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as post-MI, post-op vascular, GI bleed, DKA, and other stepdown-level conditions
• Administer and titrate medications and drips according to protocol
• Support patients requiring BiPAP or CPAP as clinically indicated
• Work closely with charge nurses, house supervisors, and ancillary staff to ensure excellent patient care
• Document accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record
• Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach in a dynamic acute care environment
