Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN-Telemetry for a night shift position requiring an active MA RN license and prior telemetry experience.

Details

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment at 36 hours per week
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Shift start time flexible up to four hours before or after posted time based on department need
• Every other weekend/every other holiday requirement
• May float within the ED to care for boarder patients supporting surge/overflow needs
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), PCA pumps, spinal precautions, and epidurals preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration
• Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam and a medication exam during orientation (one attempt only)
• Two references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be available to work all 7 days
• Must reside within a 200-mile radius for consideration
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
• Facility allows coverage for 1 of 3 major upcoming holidays as RTO
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Study materials are provided in advance of the required orientation exams
