Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry Short Stay position on a 7 East Medical Admit Unit, working nights on a 4x12 schedule with a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience required.

Details

• Position is located on the 7 East Medical Admit Unit of a large, nationally recognized acute care hospital in St. Louis, MO
• Patient population is 50% Medical and 50% Telemetry, adults only
• Patient ratio is approximately 4–6:1
• EMR is Epic
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 4 days per week (4x12)
• 13-week contract with potential extension up to 26 weeks
• Every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required unless otherwise approved
• Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license in Missouri or eligible for MO licensure (MO or Compact license required)
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
• NIHSS certification required
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry (Tele) experience required
• No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adult patients
• Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
• Night shift nurses orient on day shift; full availability is required for the entire orientation week
• Up to 5 days of RTO per 13-week contract is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• At least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day) is expected
• Flu vaccination is required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Black scrubs required
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or relocation outside the 50-mile radius is required
• A manager interview will be conducted within 24 hours of offer; all offers are subject to final manager approval
