Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring an active PA or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Details

  • Work in the Telemetry/PCU unit of a hospital setting
  • Cares for cardiac telemetry, stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Night shift schedule with 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
  • Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed
  • Uses a charting system with experience required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience managing cardiac drips, thrombolytic agents, and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias
  • Experience with cardiovascular care including pacemakers, cardiac catheterization, and TR band use preferred
  • Experience with total joint replacement and traction care preferred
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry monitoring and emergency response including use of rapid response/code teams
  • Manage patients with cardiac, renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal conditions
  • Care for patients with CVA, post-TPA care, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
  • Perform wound care and isolation precautions/PPE protocols as needed
  • Must be available to work every other holiday
  • Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
  • Travel pairs considered based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
  • Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
  • Two supervisor references preferred
