Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a busy cardiac telemetry unit, requiring 1 year of experience and an active MI RN license.

Details

• Work in a 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry unit, the facility's main cardiac telemetry unit
• Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain, with possible overflow medical patients
• Patients are monitored via remote telemetry room as well as on the unit, and may require cardiac drips
• Typical patient ratios range from 1:5-6, with ratios up to 1:7 during call-ins
• 4x12 hour Day shift schedule (0700-1930)
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• No call requirements
• May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume/census
• Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting

Requirements

• Active RN license (MI)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, comfortable with high patient ratios
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Cerner charting experience required
• Comfortable managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac telemetry patients both remotely and on the unit, managing cardiac drips, and responding to dysrhythmias
• Royal Blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
• Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days; if RTO falls during the holidays, travelers must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 major holidays
• Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated when possible
