Registered Nurse – Neuro Telemetry
Akron Campus
Location: 141 N. Forge St., Akron, OH 44304
Contract: October 18, 2026 – January 16, 2027
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Schedule: 12-hour shifts
Interview: Required
Position Overview:
Akron Campus is seeking an experienced Tele/Neuro-Tele Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care on a 28-bed Neuro-Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry and neuro nursing experience and be comfortable caring for post-trauma and high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment.
Unit Details:
- 28-bed Neuro-Telemetry Unit
- Patient ratios: 1:4–5
- Neuro and telemetry patient population
- Post-trauma patients
- Fast-paced clinical environment
- Float required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to neuro-telemetry patients.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and accurately document patient status.
- Care for patients with neurological conditions and post-trauma needs.
- Demonstrate proficiency with stroke assessments/scales.
- Start and maintain peripheral IVs.
- Perform phlebotomy and blood specimen collection.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patients for changes and promptly escalate significant findings.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR.
- Float to other units as required.
- Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care in a high-volume environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience.
- Recent Neuro-Telemetry experience preferred.
- Experience caring for neuro and post-trauma patients.
- Proficiency with stroke scales/neurological assessments.
- Phlebotomy experience required.
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs.
- EPIC experience within the last 12 months is mandatory.
- Must have an accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Float required.
Required Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
Submission Requirements:
- Resume must clearly list EPIC experience within the last 12 months.
- Resume must clearly list phlebotomy experience.
- RTO must be provided at submission.
- Maximum 7 days of RTO.
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment.
- No block schedule requests.
- Candidate must provide interview availability at the time of submission.
- Interview is required.
Dress Code:
- Solid black scrubs required.
