Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with an active MA RN license and at least 2 years of experience to support a surge/overflow unit.

Details

• Telemetry unit assignment supporting surge/overflow patients
• 13-week contract at 48 hours per week
• Day shift schedule (4x12 hours), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with some shift flexibility based on department need
• Every other weekend/every other holiday rotation required
• May float within the ED to care for boarder patients
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac) preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with PCA pumps preferred
• Experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy required
• Experience with spinal precautions and epidural management preferred
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Must pass a pass/fail medication exam during in-person orientation, with only one attempt allowed before contract cancellation
• Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam during orientation, with only one attempt allowed; study materials will be provided
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days as needed
• Facility allows one of the three major upcoming holidays to be requested as RTO
• RTO requests of up to 14 days may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 75-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
