Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in Worcester, MA, requiring an active MA RN license and experience caring for ortho/trauma patients.

Details

  • Telemetry unit with a primarily orthopedic and trauma patient population
  • Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • 13 or 26-week contracts available
  • Charting in Epic (experience required)
  • Must be available to work any day of the week — no special scheduling accommodations can be made

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required (2 years preferred)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Required clinical skills include: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draw, PICC line management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, wound care/wound vac, heparin and PCA medication management, and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
  • Candidates must have a clear nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions

Additional Information

  • Candidates must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates within that radius are accepted at the same bill rate
  • Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review; no time off is permitted during the first week of the assignment
  • This is a union facility — no special scheduling accommodations will be made for any reason
  • Must pass a Pass/Fail Telemetry/EKG test during orientation with a minimum score of 80%; only one attempt is allowed, and failure will result in assignment cancellation
  • Must also pass a Pass/Fail Medication exam administered during orientation
  • Pre-start online modules (approximately 1–2 hours) must be completed before the assignment begins
  • Candidates who have previously worked for this health system must have a 12-month separation before being eligible
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
