Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN - Telemetry for a Neuro Surgical Specialty unit requiring 2 years of acute inpatient tele experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Neuro Surgical Specialty unit with 34 beds
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1
• Patient population includes spine and neuro surgical diagnoses (not stroke)
• Uses lumbar/JP drains, wound vac, traction, PCA, trach, EKG, and feeding tube equipment
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule from 6:45pm to 7:15am
• Works every other weekend
• 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 36 hours weekly

Requirements

• Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
• 2 years of acute inpatient tele experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Provide assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for neuro surgical patients
• Facilitate patient and family education throughout stay and at discharge
• Mentor and precept staff while promoting teamwork and evidence-based practice
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel
• Participate in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
