Travel Telemetry Tech - $1,647 per week in New York City, NY

Job Title: Telemetry Technician Profession: Technician Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: 2 years minimum of Telemetry Technician experience License: Active certification required Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross. - Dysrhythmia Course. Must-Have: - Advanced ECG monitoring skills. - Ability to analyze ECG strips and interpret arrhythmias. - Capacity to identify and respond to life-threatening rhythm changes. - Competence in performing continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias. - Skills in troubleshooting monitoring problems and responding to monitor alarms appropriately. Description: Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation. Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes. Initiate codes and record rhythms during codes. Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings, ensuring proper electrode placement. Communicate clearly with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians. Enter and verify orders in the computer system. Retrieve laboratory results from the computer system and inform the charge nurse. Ensure documentation complies with current standards and policies. Manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and correctly.
