Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Trauma ICU RN with a WI or compact license and at least 2 years of ICU experience for a Level I trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in a Trauma ICU setting at a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
• Care for critically ill medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patients
• Day/Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with potential for 4x12 schedules if desired
• Every other weekend required
• Required to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, including Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU experience
• Must have 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being applied to
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to trauma, medical, and surgical ICU patients in a high-acuity academic hospital setting
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Holiday coverage required for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, with additional transportation options available nearby
• First-time travelers are not specified as accepted for this assignment
