Job Title: Sonographer Profession: Sonographer Specialty: Ultrasound Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours per day Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: ARDMS, BLS Certification Must-Have: - Vascular experience Description: General certification requirements include BLS. RDMS is required in medical sonography. RVT in vascular technology is preferred. The department has three scanners/rooms. Floating or covering other areas may be required, but it is not standard. Common imaging studies performed include all general ultrasound exams, thoracentesis biopsies, and vascular exams. The average number of scans/studies performed per day is between eight and sixteen. The department uses Cerner for EMR and PACS. Department-specific equipment includes Phillips EPIQ. The supervisor oversees the radiology department. Registered radiology assistants are not utilized. A radiologist is present in-house. Starting IVs is not required. Shifts can be scheduled for day or evening. There may be occasional weekend requirements. Holiday scheduling is rotational. On-call or standby requirements are part of the role. Scrubs are not provided at this time. A radiation badge is required and will be provided by the employer. The cancellation policy allows for four shifts per contract or three shifts if the contract is under 13 weeks.
