Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Ultrasound Technologist Specialty: N/A Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Hours per Shift: 7.5 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: N/A Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Must-Have: 2+ years as Ultrasound Technologist Description: The Ultrasound Technologist performs or assists in ultrasound examinations. Renders technical assistance to the Radiologist. Maintains and cares for all ultrasound equipment. Prepares and examines all patients for ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental procedures and techniques. Operates and adjusts ultrasound equipment. Takes safety precautions necessary to protect patients and personnel from electric shock and other hazards. Sets up, operates, cleans and makes minor adjustments to ultrasound equipment. Ensures adequate supplies are available for use. Assists in the orientation and mentoring of new Ultrasound personnel. Captures images onto PACS and transfers to physicians' workstations. Answers telephones and schedules examinations. May initiate transportation. Performs other duties as required. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of office and administrative practices. Skill in the use of personal computers and software. Ability to problem-solve and make decisions. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
