Description:
The Ultrasound Technologist performs or assists in ultrasound examinations.
They render technical assistance to the Radiologist.
They maintain and care for all ultrasound equipment.
Duties include preparing and examining patients for ultrasound examinations.
This is done in accordance with established departmental procedures and techniques.
They operate and adjust ultrasound equipment.
Safety precautions are taken to protect patients and personnel from electric shock and other hazards.
The technologist sets up, operates, cleans, and makes minor adjustments to ultrasound equipment.
Ensuring adequate supplies are available for use is part of the responsibilities.
They assist in the orientation and mentoring of new Ultrasound personnel.
Images are captured onto PACS and transferred to physicians' workstations.
The technologist answers telephones and schedules examinations.
They may also initiate transportation.
Other duties may be required as needed.
Skills required include proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of office and administrative practices is essential.
The ability to problem-solve and make decisions is necessary.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion are important.
Required skills include customer service and ultrasound expertise.
