Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Ultrasound Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Shifts + occasional weekend call Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: State License Required Certifications: BLS Certification, RDMS Must-Have: Must be comfortable with non-echo and vascular studies. 2 years of experience is required. Strong attention to detail and ability to provide compassionate care. Proficiency in using computer technology. Description: Department consists of one echo room and one general ultrasound room, with plans for expansion. An echo dedicated sonographer handles all echo exams. May need to perform ultrasound in the operating room if required. Common imaging studies performed include OB, GYN, abdomen, breast, and vascular assessments. Job duties involve cleaning room and equipment, stocking supplies, and ensuring a safe environment. Average number of scans/studies per day is 6-8, with options for add-on exams. Department specific equipment includes Philips Epiq 5, Epiq Elite, and a backup Mindray. No radiology supervisor or lead technician is present on each shift. Teleradiology services are available 24 hours a day. There is no requirement to start IVs. Weekend call is required only when other travelers are unavailable. On holidays, outpatient scheduling is closed during weekdays, and staff can choose to work or take the day off. Call response time is expected to be within 20 minutes. Gray scrubs are required; however, scrubs are not provided. One week of unit-specific orientation is available, with extensions if necessary. Candidate needs to ensure compliance with productivity rules and scheduling needs.
