Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Ultrasound Specialty: General Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours, starting at 7 AM, Wednesday through Friday Experience: 2+ years current ultrasound experience required License: Active American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification required Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS required Must-Have: - ARDMS certification in Abdomen, Breast, OB/GYN, or RVT - Previous travel experience preferred - Cerner experience preferred - Own vehicle Description: No OB beyond the first trimester. No musculoskeletal or venous studies required. Carotid, upper and lower venous (DVT), general abdominal ultrasounds, aorta screenings, thyroid, and breast ultrasounds are performed. No pediatric patients. The ultrasound technologist assists providers with procedures for prostates, thyroids, breasts, and lymph nodes. General ultrasound, vascular, and musculoskeletal ultrasound services are provided Monday through Friday with varying hours. The ultrasound department is accredited by the American College of Radiology. The ability to function independently and proficiently is required. Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies regularly. A working knowledge of clinical emergency equipment such as oxygen tanks and suction apparatus is necessary. Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric. Personal scrubs of any color are acceptable. All requested time off must be noted prior to submission. Requests for time off after submission will not be accepted. No more than five days of time off will be accepted during the assignment. Travelers must include their permanent address in their profile. All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission. Three strike rule applies for call-offs. Travelers contract may be terminated after three call-offs due to attendance issues. Each call-off must be communicated to the unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours in advance.
