Join the team as an Ultrasound Technologist (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) where you will operate specialized ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images used by physicians to evaluate and treat medical conditions.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Registered in both Abdomen and OB/GYN by ARDMS.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology.
  • BLS certification. All certifications and registrations must be maintained, active and current.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Experience performing general adult abdominal and OB/GYN sonography in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Experience assisting physicians with special ultrasound procedures and needle biopsies preferred.

  • Shift Details: Days 0900-1700, 5x8.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up ultrasound equipment and prepare patients for examination. Select appropriate transducer type and frequency for each exam.
  • Obtain, review and retrieve pertinent patient history and clinical data to assist physicians in diagnosis.
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Provide explanations to patients and answer questions to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
  • Evaluate ultrasound images for technical quality and maintain accurate radiology records and image labels.
  • Assist physicians with special ultrasound procedures and needle biopsies.
  • Requisition supplies and coordinate maintenance and repair services for department equipment.
  • Participate in department education and maintain continuing education requirements.
  • Comply with departmental and hospital policies, infection control, and safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and provide professional patient-centered service consistent with organizational values.
