Join the team as an Ultrasound Technologist (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) where you will operate specialized ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images used by physicians to evaluate and treat medical conditions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Registered in both Abdomen and OB/GYN by ARDMS.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology.
- BLS certification. All certifications and registrations must be maintained, active and current.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Experience performing general adult abdominal and OB/GYN sonography in a hospital setting preferred.
- Experience assisting physicians with special ultrasound procedures and needle biopsies preferred.

Job Responsibilities
- Set up ultrasound equipment and prepare patients for examination. Select appropriate transducer type and frequency for each exam.
- Obtain, review and retrieve pertinent patient history and clinical data to assist physicians in diagnosis.
- Position patients and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Provide explanations to patients and answer questions to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
- Evaluate ultrasound images for technical quality and maintain accurate radiology records and image labels.
- Assist physicians with special ultrasound procedures and needle biopsies.
- Requisition supplies and coordinate maintenance and repair services for department equipment.
- Participate in department education and maintain continuing education requirements.
- Comply with departmental and hospital policies, infection control, and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned and provide professional patient-centered service consistent with organizational values.
