Join the team as an Ultrasound Technologist (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) where you will operate specialized ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images used by physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Registration in both Abdomen and OB/GYN by ARDMS required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology.
  • BLS certification required. All certifications and registrations must be maintained, active and current.
  • Experience performing general ultrasound exams, including abdominal and obstetric/gynecologic studies, and assisting with special procedures such as ultrasound-guided needle biopsies.
  • Ability to obtain, review and apply pertinent patient history and clinical data to facilitate diagnostic imaging.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal.
  • Preferred: Experience teaching didactic or clinical ultrasound instruction and experience working in a hospital radiology department.

Standard Job Description:

Utilize high frequency sound waves to produce ultrasound images and related data used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis. Primary duties include setting up equipment, selecting appropriate transducers, obtaining and reviewing patient history and clinical data, positioning and preparing patients, and evaluating image technical quality. Maintain radiology records and properly label images. Assist physicians with special ultrasound procedures and needle biopsies. Requisition supplies and coordinate maintenance. Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort and safety. Maintain knowledge of departmental and hospital policies, comply with infection control, participate in continuing education, and preserve patient confidentiality. Perform other duties as assigned.
