This temp-to-direct Ultrasound Technologist position focuses on breast imaging within a highly regarded imaging environment in Largo, Florida. The assignment is 13 weeks in length with an ASAP start date, Monday through Friday, working five 8-hour day shifts, for an expected 40 hours per week. The role is designed as temp-to-direct, providing an opportunity to evaluate the fit with the team and setting before potentially transitioning into a permanent role. In this role, you will provide high-quality breast ultrasound imaging for patients undergoing screening, diagnostic evaluations, and follow-up imaging. You will perform complete and targeted breast ultrasound exams, prepare and position patients, optimize imaging settings, and ensure clear documentation and image labeling. Coordination with radiologists is central to the position, as you will support timely interpretations and assist with correlation to mammography and other breast imaging modalities.
Depending on the site’s workflow, you may assist with or support image-guided breast procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, or localizations, ensuring that images, measurements, and documentation are complete and accurate. A typical day may include a mix of scheduled screening and diagnostic exams, urgent add-on studies, and close communication with the care team to accommodate patient needs and maintain efficient throughput.
Patient interaction is a key aspect of this position. You will provide compassionate, professional care to patients who may be anxious, undergoing further workup after an abnormal screening, or preparing for interventional procedures. Clear communication, a calm demeanor, and a strong focus on patient comfort and privacy are essential.
The imaging environment is designed to support technologists with modern ultrasound equipment and integrated workflows. You will utilize digital imaging systems and electronic medical records to manage patient data, ensure accurate exam documentation, and support streamlined communication with radiologists and other team members.
