Job Title: Ultrasound Tech Profession: Ultrasound Tech Specialty: Ultrasound Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: Gathering more info Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: Not specified License: Required Licenses/Certifications: Certifications: ACR Accredited Sites: All sonographers must be certified and currently registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB) or Vascular (RVT); or Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI-RVS); or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S) or (VS) within one year of hire: Required in CA and HI (with multiple areas Preferred) Must-Have: Basic Life Support (BLS or equivalent) certification from approved vendor per policy: Required Description: Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians. Produces images of internal body tissues to diagnose and monitor various conditions. Supervises and mentors ultrasound personnel. Maintains ultrasound equipment. Uses ultrasound equipment to direct high-frequency sound waves to a specified area of the patient's body. Captures quality images that describe the composition, shape, and motion of tissues, organs, vessels, and pathology. Summarizes, documents, verifies, and presents images, findings, calculations, and measurements to physicians for diagnoses. Adheres to ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, precautions, and standards. Provides direct patient care, including assessing patient condition and cooperation ability. Positions patients and equipment, prepares patients for procedures, and continually monitors and records vital signs. Observes for reactions and signs of impending complications and intervenes as needed. Maintains accurate records, files, and billing information. Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to confidentiality guidelines and regulations. Prepares rooms and patients for subsequent ultrasound procedures. Verifies operational status of equipment before daily use. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational Requirements: Commitment to the safety and well-being of associates and patients is essential.
