Job Title: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Profession: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Specialty: OB-GYN Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 1-hour lunch Experience: 2 Years Preferred License: ARDMS (OB/GYN) Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Required Must-Have: - Two (2) years of experience in ultrasound procedures. - Current ARDMS certification in OB/GYN. - BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Description: In this position, the Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures to obtain desired imaging results according to physician specifications. This includes transferring patients for examinations and assisting with the ultrasound examination process. The Sonographer is responsible for the appropriate operation of all ultrasound imaging and related equipment. This role includes educating, positioning, immobilizing, and performing ultrasound procedures. The Sonographer coordinates ultrasound examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care. It is essential to understand and follow provider imaging orders correctly. Submitting required images and related clinical information to the Radiologist for interpretation is a key responsibility. The Sonographer must appropriately evaluate image quality. Open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership is necessary. This position requires the appropriate utilization, charging, and maintenance of department supplies. Practicing sterile technique and following infection prevention policies is crucial. The ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines is expected. Safely performing ultrasound procedures, including patient transfer, is required. Experience in anatomy scans and OB/GYN scans (pelvic and transvaginal) is preferred. The Sonographer is expected to have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team is necessary. This position must be able to function successfully in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Experience in understanding and usage of computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite, is required.
