Job Title: Ultrasonographer / Peri Sonographer Profession: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 08:30 - 17:00 Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year performing 3D/4D examinations and extended cardiac views License: RDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN upon hire Certifications: CPR/BLS, Clear Cervical Length Education and Review within 180 days, NT Nuchal Translucency within 180 days, Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification within 1.5 years Must-Have: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; Technical School Diploma in Ultrasonography or Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Description: Performs a variety of high-risk obstetric ultrasound examinations and procedures using established protocols. Utilizes a moderate degree of individual judgment based on clinical circumstances and patient conditions. Conducts clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography examinations, synthesizing information with the patient's medical history. Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies. Implements advanced imaging techniques when medically applicable (3D/4D). Records anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician. Maintains electronic patient charts and records to process sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the sonogram. Prepares preliminary reports as requested by the physician. Uses independent judgment during sonographic exams to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings. Selects appropriate transducers and adjusts equipment to optimize images based on fetal position, anatomy, and depth of field. Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes corrective action when possible. Explains medical studies and procedures to patients, ensuring they are well informed regarding the examination. Lifts and carries 25-35 lbs and pushes/pulls 50-100 lbs. Demonstrates ability to independently guide providers for invasive procedures.
