Description

Job Title: Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Clinical Professional Specialty: Cardiac Ultrasound Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Sunday 1100-1930; Monday-Thursday 1100-1930 Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of six months related experience License: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Ability to work independently Ability to utilize critical thinking skills Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare staff regarding Cardiac Ultrasound results Ability to serve in on-call rotation after regular business hours Description: Responsible for diagnostic cardiac or vascular ultrasound. Provides accurate images of cardiac structures for diagnosis. Delivers immediate feedback with preliminary reports of critical results. Assists with complex procedures to decrease potential associated risks. Demonstrates correct technique, efficiency, and judgment in performing advanced cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures. Performs adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures. Reviews pertinent patient data and reports before procedures. Operates necessary equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic recordings. Exercises judgment in notifying physicians of abnormal results. Maintains proper documentation of data according to policy. Documents all procedures accurately in the departmental tracking process. Collaborates in the maintenance of departmental efficiency. Anticipates needs in equipment and supplies. Uses resources wisely to assist in cost containment. Supports unit goals through quality assurance and educational activities. Maintains current competency and registry in specialty practices. Demonstrates initiative in personal and professional development. Participates in departmental quality assurance process and accreditation. Modifies behavior to meet changing departmental goals. Complies with departmental policies. Maintains a clean environment and practices infection control. Promotes safety for patients, visitors, and personnel. Maintains confidentiality for patients and staff. Collaborates effectively with all members of the healthcare team. Exhibits independent judgment in decision-making. Coordinates activities of others without direct supervision. Works directly with patients and healthcare professionals. Engages frequently with individuals at director level or above.
