This 13-week Breast Sonographer assignment is based in Denver, Colorado, a dynamic city that combines vibrant urban living with unparalleled access to outdoor adventure. You will be working in a modern healthcare setting with a focus on high-quality breast imaging services. The facility offers contemporary ultrasound technology and a collaborative environment where sonographers work closely with radiologists, surgeons, and breast care teams. This assignment is ideal for a breast sonographer looking to expand their experience within a busy imaging department that values patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.
Typical responsibilities will include performing diagnostic and screening breast ultrasound exams, assisting with ultrasound-guided biopsies, supporting lesion localization, and providing clear and compassionate communication to patients regarding the imaging process. You may participate in coordinated care pathways for patients undergoing evaluation for breast abnormalities and will be expected to maintain meticulous image quality and documentation standards.
A typical day may involve: Performing scheduled and add-on breast ultrasound exams, both diagnostic and screening Preparing patients for procedures, explaining exams, and ensuring comfort and privacy Collaborating with radiologists on real-time image review and correlation with mammography and other modalities as indicated Assisting during ultrasound-guided interventions according to facility protocols Documenting exams in the facility’s EMR and imaging systems, ensuring accurate reporting and follow-up Participating in departmental workflow discussions to optimize patient throughput and quality of care
Patient volumes and ratios will reflect a dedicated breast imaging environment, with a steady schedule of daily exams and procedures that supports both diagnostic and screening services. You can expect structured shifts appropriate for a breast imaging practice, which may include daytime hours with possible occasional extended days or limited weekend coverage depending on scheduling needs over the 13 weeks.
