Job Title: Client Fetal Medicine Sonographer Profession: Client Fetal Medicine Sonographer Specialty: Client Fetal Medicine Sonographer Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8.5 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Not specified Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: Prior experience in Client Fetal Medicine for at least one year Description: Perform comprehensive obstetric ultrasounds, including first trimester scans (NT, early anatomy). Conduct detailed second- and third-trimester anatomy surveys. Complete growth and biophysical profiles (BPP). Assess multiple gestations and cervical length. Evaluate the placenta and perform Doppler studies (umbilical artery, MCA, ductus venosus). Conduct high-risk and specialized exams. Evaluate complex maternal and fetal conditions and identify abnormal findings. Support fetal therapy and invasive procedures (sonographers do not guide or perform these). Amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), PUBS (cordocentesis), and selective fetal reduction are performed by physicians. Provide compassionate care to patients facing high-risk pregnancies. Explain procedures while maintaining scope. Ensure privacy and emotional sensitivity. Acquire high-quality diagnostic images and complete measurements accurately. Enter exam data into EMR and PACS systems. Ensure studies meet accreditation standards. Work closely with physicians, radiologists, nurses, genetic counselors, and support staff. Participate in multidisciplinary care coordination. Unit description: Busy unit with multiple scanning rooms and a brand-new ultrasound machine. Anatomy scans are allocated sufficient time for thorough evaluation. Abnormal results are communicated promptly to providers, and consults are performed bedside. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
