Key Responsibilities of the Sonographer

Perform all non-invasive imaging procedures, including echocardiograms and vascular studies
Ensure proper billing of procedures and patient scheduling
Coordinate and prioritize patient scheduling efficiently
Obtain and verify necessary information for diagnostic procedures
Document procedures diligently within patient charts
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and work areas
Notify medical staff of any atypical imaging findings
Calculate and measure cardiovascular structures to assist in diagnostics
Ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times

Requirements of the Sonographer

BLS Certification (AHA)
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) via CCI or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) via ARDMS
Breast sonography experience required
Ability to perform OB sonography across all trimesters
