Key Responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologist
  • Assist physicians in all aspects of invasive procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and recording hemodynamic parameters.
  • Assist in diagnostic interventional procedures by operating relevant equipment and devices.
  • Provide care for the physical and psychological needs of patients during exams and procedures.
  • Transfer patients onto medical equipment and ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity.
  • Set up and clean sterile trays after procedures.
  • Assist with administration of contrast media.
  • Maintain inventory for the department.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine safety checks on interventional equipment.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Electrophysiology (EP) program, if applicable.
  • Keep current with new developments in EP, if applicable.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements of the Radiologic Technologist
  • Associate's degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology or related field with relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification, if applicable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Completion of Intra-aortic Balloon Pump Course.
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in Massachusetts.
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
