Job Summary
The Multispecialty Sonographer performs basic to advanced ultrasound examinations, including but not limited to:
- Abdominal
- Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN)
- Cardiac
- Vascular
- Musculoskeletal
- Small parts imaging
This role involves reviewing patient clinical history to determine the purpose of each examination, formulating relevant clinical questions, and adjusting imaging protocols as needed to ensure comprehensive diagnostic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures across multiple specialties
- Review and interpret patient clinical history to guide imaging approach
- Ensure proper patient positioning, safety, and comfort during procedures
- Adapt and expand imaging studies based on findings and clinical indications
- Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support diagnosis and care
- Adhere to all regulatory, safety, and infection control standards
QualificationsEducation
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of multispecialty sonography experience
Certifications / Licensure
- Must hold ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB), OB/GYN (OB), or RVT, and:
- At least two additional specialty certifications in separate areas, such as:
- RDMS (AB, BR, OB/GYN, PS)
- RDCS (AE, FE, PE)
- RVT
- RMSKS
- ARRT (S, VS, BS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer
