Job Summary: Ultrasonographer General position located onsite. This role involves utilizing high frequency sound waves to produce ultrasound images and related data used by physicians to render medical diagnoses. The position requires preparing patients, operating ultrasound equipment, reviewing clinical data, and assisting physicians with procedures within a hospital setting.
Job Details:
Schedule: Rotating shifts; 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Certifications by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology; registered in both Abdomen and OB/GYN by ARDMS; BLS certification; ability to read, write and communicate in English; 0 years of experience required.
Preferred Qualifications: None listed.
Additional Information: Responsibilities include setting up equipment, selecting transducers, obtaining patient histories, positioning patients, providing patient explanations, maintaining ultrasound records, assisting with special ultrasound procedures such as needle biopsies, and participating in educational activities. Compliance with departmental policies, infection control, and professional development are essential. The position involves direct patient care and collaboration with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure quality imaging and patient safety.
