Job Title: Non-Invasive Vascular Technologist Profession: Tech Specialty: Vascular Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.) Experience: One year in vascular testing License: Required certifications include one of the following: - Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - Vascular Sonography ARRT (VS) Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Clinical proficiency in performing non-invasive vascular diagnostic studies accurately and in a timely manner according to established department protocols. - Competencies must include areas and exams such as Duplex Imaging, Lower Extremity Venous, Internal Jugular Venous, Carotid Imaging, Lower Extremity Arterial, Internal Jugular Arterial, and Visceral Vascular Imaging. Description: The Non-Invasive Vascular Technologist is trained in vascular physiology and non-invasive techniques. This role involves performing non-invasive test procedures on patients to evaluate for peripheral vascular disease. The technologist will function as a member of the hospital team and demonstrate clinical proficiency in patient care relative to vascular testing. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments and documenting vascular technology diagnoses that contribute to the patient's plan of care. The technologist is responsible for selecting appropriate equipment based on the patient's presentation and the exam's objective. Exams must be performed in accordance with departmental policies and procedures as well as physician orders. The technologist will identify vascular technology interventions based on established diagnoses. Additionally, they will evaluate the patient's vascular morphology and physiology. Recognizing and compensating for technical artifacts while maximizing equipment to identify diseases is essential. Collaboration with interdisciplinary services to meet ongoing patient care needs is required. The technologist will observe and document the patient's response to exams. Based on findings, they will identify and document normal and abnormal anatomical structures, physiology, pathology, and pathophysiology. In case of any adverse changes in the patient's condition, the technologist must promptly notify the physician and lead technologist. Continuous evaluation will involve reassessment, modification of vascular diagnoses, and revision of the care plan in collaboration with healthcare professionals. Providing appropriate patient health care and public education is also a key responsibility. The technologist must maintain knowledge of current vascular diagnostic techniques and meet accreditation's educational requirements.
