Job Title: Vascular Technologist Profession: Registered Vascular Technician Specialty: - Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Day, Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 1+ years License: - Certifications: BLS (CPR), ARDMS (RVT) or CCI RVS Must-Have: - Associate’s degree in Ultrasound/Sonography or completion of an Ultrasound/Sonography program Description: The Vascular Technologist performs a full range of vascular exams using a variety of equipment and modalities, including ultrasound and testing. Essential functions include the ability to cross-train to other divisions of cardiovascular services. The Technologist demonstrates acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment. They review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness. Accurate and complete documentation is required after each exam. The role involves performing routine and complex vascular ultrasound imaging procedures following departmental guidelines. Department-specific job functions include performing various vascular ultrasound exams according to physician orders and standing protocols. The Technologist may rotate to off-site mobile locations to serve patients. Taking call during rotating holidays, nights, and weekends is expected. Proper cleaning of equipment and rooms between patients is essential. Documentation is required to accurately communicate with physicians regarding patient history and exam findings. An ability to work in a fast-paced environment where prioritization, organizational, and teamwork skills are essential is necessary.
