Job Highlights

- Provides care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, OB/GYN, Antepartum, and Triage
- May float to another unit as a sitter or helping hands based on census
- Attends deliveries and circulates during C-sections
- Assists physician during deliveries
- Performs neonatal assessment and care following C-sections
- Provides patient and family education throughout the continuum of care
Required Certifications
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- NRP (AHA)
- STABLE
- AWHONN
- All certifications must be attached at submission
Experience Requirements
- 2 years of recent experience in:
- Level I Nursery
- Postpartum
- OB/GYN
- Labor & Delivery / LDRP
- Experience may include:
- OB/GYN post-op (including hysterectomy patients)
- Antepartum
- OB Triage
- Labor & Delivery
- Postpartum care
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Administer medications, treatments, and specimen collection
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient status
- Assist with activities of daily living
- Coordinate patient transfers, discharge planning, referrals, and psychosocial support
- Advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being
- Circulate during C-sections
- Recover and care for surgical OB patients
- Attend neonatal station during C-sections and complete newborn assessments
- Maintain fetal monitoring competency every two years
- Attend STABLE certification if offered while maintaining NRP certification
- Communicate critical patient information to physicians and the healthcare team
