Provides specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care in an acute hospital setting. This role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, serving as a resource for wound management and consulting with healthcare teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Position Description: Provides care to medically complex patients in a specialized acute care setting. Works within scope and experience with autonomy and authority for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of wound, ostomy, and continence care programs throughout inpatient care areas. Serves as a resource for wound care management, including identification, assessment, treatment, and prevention. Provides specialized consultation on wound, ostomy, and continence issues for patients, families, nursing, and medical staff. Conducts rounds on patients with wound/pressure ulcers and injuries as needed.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN); relevant clinical nursing experience; Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; 1 year of clinical experience.
• Certification and Licenses: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is required. Inpatient acute hospital wound care experience is required. The traveler will see patients from different units as needed for wound care.
