Job Summary:
Wound Care Nurse New York, NY. This position involves conducting comprehensive health assessments focused on wound, ostomy, and continence-related care. The role includes developing and evaluating care standards, collaborating with the healthcare team, and providing patient and staff education. The ideal candidate will have experience in wound and colostomy care, a valid New York State RN license, and relevant certifications.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 7.5 hours per day, minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Associates Degree (ASN, ADN) from an accredited Nursing Program; New York State RN License; Primary Source Verification of License and Registration from NYS Department of Education; AHA BLS; Current certification in one of the following: Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) issued by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB), Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) issued by the WOCNCB, Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) issued by the WOCNCB, Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) issued by the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM), or Wound Care Certified Certification (WCC) issued by the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO).

  • Additional Information:
    • Conducts health assessments with a focus on wound, ostomy, and continence care.
    • Assesses patient response to treatments and documents findings.
    • Collaborates with the health care team, making referrals as needed.
    • Provides patient, family, and staff education on wound management and prevention.
    • Participates in quality improvement activities and unit/department initiatives.
    • Maintains confidentiality and data security.
    • Identifies community resources to support patient care.
    • Asset management related to rented equipment such as specialty beds and Negative Pressure Devices.
    • The role requires rotating weekends and holidays.
