Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiology Technician Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days with Call Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 2 years License: State License Required Certifications: BLS Certification, Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Must-Have: Experience with orthopedic views preferred Description: The department includes a digital x-ray room, a digital fluoroscopy/x-ray room, a portable x-ray unit in the emergency room, and c-arms in the operating room and procedure room. The imaging department has 2 CT rooms, 1 mammography unit, 1 MRI, 1 DEXA, and 3 ultrasound machines. Common imaging studies performed include trauma, orthopedic, operating room, long leg, and scoliosis views. The average number of scans/studies performed per day is between 40-50, with multiple technologists scheduled. Experience in handling Meditech EMR and McKesson PACS is necessary. The department utilizes Siemens digital radiography, Siemens digital fluoroscopy, Siemens portable digital x-ray, and a GE c-arm. A manager is present during shifts, and there are no registered radiology assistants. There is no requirement to start IVs. Shifts are Monday through Friday, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with available call shifts that can be adjusted for time off requests. Weekend obligations are primarily handled by CT for after-hours x-rays, with the radiologic technologist on call for high volumes or major trauma, though callback volume is typically low. Major holidays are closed, with rotating on-call hours. The call requirement is rotating, with staff sharing responsibilities approximately every 2-3 weeks. Response time for on-call duties is expected to be within 20 minutes. Floating to cover other modalities is expected during slow periods. The dress code includes gray scrubs, which are not provided. Department-specific orientation typically consists of 3-5 eight-hour shifts, depending on experience. Candidates must meet a radius rule of 50 miles and cannot have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any affiliated facilities in the past 12 months. All requests for time off must be submitted upfront, and additional requests after submissions will not be approved. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts for a 13-week assignment, and 3 shifts for assignments of less than 13 weeks. BSN is not required for submission. This position operates within an acute care setting.
