This role includes working with current Radiology Technologist staff and assisting them in becoming competent in Interventional Radiology procedures. The Technologist will also collaborate with the Interventional Radiology staff in ultrasound and CT, helping them gain the skills needed to provide excellent patient care. They will make suggestions to refine processes and develop workflows related to Interventional Radiology procedures and the modalities involved. No on-call work is required. Essential job functions involve administering contrast material as per physician request via existing IV line. Anticipating setup and needs for invasive procedures is essential. Assisting with inventory and supplies as needed is expected. Checking for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position is crucial. Compiling pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab and pathology is necessary. Administering medication in compliance with the scope of practice is required. Accurate and complete documentation is imperative. The Technologist will explain procedures to patients and provide comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality. Performing all essential functions of the Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist is a key component of this role. Maintaining a clean and neat work area is expected. Competence in operating imaging and related equipment and performing basic troubleshooting is essential. The role includes functioning as a scrub and preceptor during Interventional Radiology procedures. Maintaining a sterile field during procedures is crucial. Administering and withholding contrast and treatment as appropriate is required. Assessing patients for allergies is essential. Assisting the physician during interventional procedures will be part of the routine.
