Description:
The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures on all patient populations, including neonates to geriatrics.
This role involves exhibiting superior levels of customer service.
The technologist effectively operates radiographic equipment to produce quality images in various settings, including the Radiology Department, Emergency Department, Operating Room, or at the patient's bedside.
The technologist explains procedures to patients, demonstrates appropriate patient positioning, and obtains optimum views of specified anatomy.
Equipment controls are adjusted to set exposure factors based on knowledge of the procedure and established guidelines.
Effective radiation safety practices are demonstrated, and assistance to the Radiologist is provided as necessary.
Daily interaction with numerous computer programs and systems is required.
The technologist may also perform various other duties assigned by the Radiology Supervisor or Director of Radiology.
