We are seeking experienced CCTV Installation Technicians with a passion for their craft to install IP and analog camera systems on large commercial projects throughout Minnesota. This is a hands-on field installation role — not a monitoring, operations, or system administration position. Work involves physical installation of cameras, NVRs, and supporting network infrastructure, primarily working day shifts with occasional after-hours work for occupied retail and healthcare sites. In-state travel required for 3–4 weeks at a time in a company vehicle after completing orientation.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, aim, and commission IP and analog CCTV cameras on large commercial sites.
- Pull, route, terminate, and label Cat6, fiber, and coax cabling.
- Mount and configure NVRs, DVRs, PoE switches, and supporting network hardware.
- Configure IP addressing, VLANs, and basic network settings for camera systems.
- Commission and tune VMS platforms during installation (Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Exacq, or manufacturer-native).
- Install supporting hardware including enclosures, junction boxes, pole mounts, and conduit terminations.
- Read and follow drawings, riser diagrams, and camera placement plans.
- Perform basic testing, troubleshooting, and customer walkthroughs of installed systems.
- Show up on time, ready to work, and be a reliable presence the crew and customer can count on.
- Follow all job-site safety policies and procedures, including ladder, lift, and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Maintain clean and professional work areas, especially in occupied client spaces.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience installing CCTV or video surveillance systems.
- Experience working on large commercial projects.
- Minnesota Power Limited Technician (PLT) license, or Registered Unlicensed Technician status with verified supervised hours toward PLT.
- Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals (IP addressing, subnetting, PoE).
- Ability to travel within Minnesota for 3–4 weeks at a time.
- Ability to work day shifts with occasional evening or weekend cutovers.
- Comfortable working at heights from ladders and aerial lifts.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with major camera platforms such as Axis, Hanwha, Avigilon, Bosch, Hikvision, Dahua, or Pelco.
- Field commissioning experience with VMS platforms such as Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon Control Center, or Exacq.
- Manufacturer certifications (Axis ACE/ACSE, Avigilon, Hanwha Wisenet, Genetec, Milestone).
- NICET Electronic Safety and Security or Video Security Systems certification.
- CompTIA Network+ or equivalent networking credential.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, aerial lift certification.
Benefits & Per Diem
- Great company culture and benefits.
- Pay between $28 – $40/hr depending on experience, licensing, and a successful interview.
- Company vehicle provided after orientation.
- Hotel accommodations provided while traveling.
- Daily food per diem provided while traveling and working.
- PLT continuing education hours and manufacturer certification fees supported.
