Traveling General Superintendent

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Federal General Superintendent to oversee the field operations of large-scale federal construction projects valued at $80M+. The ideal candidate has a proven track record managing USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, VA, or GSA projects, with barracks or military housing experience strongly preferred.

This individual will provide leadership to project teams, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, enforce safety and quality standards, and ensure successful project execution from mobilization through closeout.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities for federal projects valued at $80M or greater.
• Supervise and mentor Superintendents, Field Engineers, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate daily construction operations to maintain project schedules and milestones.
• Ensure compliance with federal contract requirements, project specifications, and quality standards.
• Champion a strong safety culture and enforce all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
• Conduct subcontractor coordination meetings and daily planning sessions.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Owners, Government representatives, and design teams to proactively resolve field issues.
• Monitor manpower, equipment, productivity, and material deliveries.
• Review construction drawings and specifications to identify and resolve conflicts before they impact the schedule.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, site documentation, and progress updates.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of superintendent experience on commercial or federal construction projects.
• Previous experience as a General Superintendent leading multiple field teams.
• Demonstrated success managing field operations on projects valued at $80M+ from start to finish.
• Federal construction experience required (USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, VA, GSA, etc.).
• Barracks, military housing, or other Department of Defense facility experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, quality control, and subcontractor management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.
