We’re looking for a skilled Traveling Electrical Maintenance Technician to support multiple FedEx distribution centers throughout the region. If you’re strong in industrial electrical work, enjoy autonomy, and thrive in fast paced environments, this role offers a great mix of problem solving, variety, and hands-on technical challenges.
This position is primarily electrical — focusing on three phase systems, 480V motors, VFDs, and troubleshooting conveyor and material-handling equipment. Mechanical tasks are part of the job, but electrical depth is what will make you stand out.
You’ll travel daily to different customer locations (company vehicle provided after proving reliability) and serve as the go to expert they rely on to keep operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
Electrical Maintenance (Primary Focus)
Troubleshoot and repair three-phase electrical systems, including 480V motors, starters, VFDs, control circuits, and lighting.
Work with 110V–480V power, relays, timers, switches, contactors, and overloads.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, 3 wire circuits, and electrical prints.
Diagnose issues where proper phase-to-phase power is crucial.
Perform electrical PMs across multiple FedEx facilities.
Mechanical Maintenance (Secondary)
Maintain and repair conveyors, belts, rollers, bearings, and related systems.
Light MIG welding as needed.
Assist with general maintenance tasks to support facility operations.
Travel & Customer Support
Travel daily to FedEx locations throughout the region.
Participate in a predictable on call rotation (1 week on / 2 weeks off).
Provide professional, customer-facing support and communicate repair findings.
Maintain documentation of work performed.
What We’re Looking For
Strong industrial electrical background is a must.
Hands-on experience with:
Three-phase wiring & 480V motors
VFDs and AC motor control
Conveyor systems or industrial material-handling equipment
Ability to troubleshoot to the PLC I/O level (no programming required).
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform multi skill maintenance.
MIG welding experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel daily.
Ability to meet a 2-hour on-call response window.
Strong communication and customer service skills
Schedule & Perks
On-call rotation: 1 week on / 2 weeks off
Paid travel time — you’re on the clock as soon as you leave home
Company vehicle provided after demonstrating reliability
Work independently while being supported by a strong technical team
Opportunities to grow your electrical expertise across multiple facilities
