Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to support field and office teams on mechanical construction projects in industrial, commercial, automotive, and emerging sectors such as data centers and healthcare.
The position begins with on‑site training at the company's Michigan office, followed by extended travel assignments across the Midwest and East Coast (weeks to months at a time).
This is a strong fit for candidates who enjoy field exposure, problem‑solving, and working closely with Project Managers on fast‑moving, multi‑site projects.

Responsibilities:
- Multi‑Site Support: Travel to active project sites for extended durations.
- Project Documentation: Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, logs, and project reports.
- Project Tracking: Maintain schedules, progress updates, and compliance documentation.
- Software Use: Utilize Procore and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud for daily project controls.
- Project Coordination: Support communication between field teams, subcontractors, and office staff.
- Field Support: Assist Project Managers with mechanical/HVAC installation oversight and documentation.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Strong skills in Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Willingness to travel 75–100% for extended periods.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud preferred.
- 1–3 years of mechanical construction or project engineering experience.
- Internship experience with a Mechanical Contractor or General Contractor accepted.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Must have hands‑on internship or project engineering experience supporting Project Managers on mechanical/HVAC installation or construction projects, including RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, and project logs.
- 2+ years supporting mechanical/HVAC construction projects.
- Exposure to industrial, automotive, or commercial mechanical systems.
