    Traveling Network Infrastructure Technician – 1099 Contract Work

    \n

    Wire-N-InfoTech is seeking a small number of experienced Network Infrastructure Technicians and qualified network/low-voltage contractors for project-based field work.

    \n

    Initial assignments will begin in the Omaha, Nebraska area and expand to locations within approximately a 250-mile radius as work orders are released. Additional regional and nationwide locations are expected as the program progresses.

    \n

    We are looking for dependable contractors who can work independently, professionally represent Wire-N-InfoTech onsite, and complete assigned work from arrival through documentation and closeout.

    Current Project Scope\n

    Typical assignments may include:

    \n
    • \n
    • Network cabinet and rack cleanup
    • \n
    • Network switch and component replacement
    • \n
    • Patch-cord organization, replacement, and labeling
    • \n
    • Cable management and identification
    • \n
    • Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A drops to customer-specified locations where required
    • \n
    • Termination of jacks, patch panels, and network connections
    • \n
    • Testing and certification of newly installed data drops
    • \n
    • Basic network and physical-layer troubleshooting
    • \n
    • Coordination with remote IT/network personnel
    • \n
    • Documentation of existing conditions and completed work
    • \n
    Future Project Phases\n

    Future retrofit phases may include site discovery and point-to-point wireless bridge installations, as well as fiber or conventional network cabling where appropriate.

    \n

    Connectivity requirements will vary by location and will be determined based on existing infrastructure, distance, and individual site conditions.

    \n

    Experience with point-to-point wireless, outdoor network equipment, fiber, and multi-site deployments is a plus.

    Required Experience\n

    Contractors should have hands-on commercial and/or industrial network infrastructure experience, including:

    \n
    • \n
    • Network switches and rack-mounted equipment
    • \n
    • MDF/IDF and network cabinet environments
    • \n
    • Structured copper cabling
    • \n
    • Cable termination, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting
    • \n
    • Reading and following project scopes and network diagrams
    • \n
    • Working independently in active customer facilities
    • \n
    • Identifying field conditions that require escalation before proceeding
    • \n
    \n

    Work may take place in active commercial, industrial, and production environments with varying site conditions typical of operating facilities. Contractors must be comfortable adapting to different work environments and following all site-specific safety and access requirements.

    \n

    BICSI, CompTIA Network+, Cisco, OSHA, manufacturer certifications, or similar credentials are preferred but not required when supported by strong field experience.

    Tools & Project Closeout\n

    Contractors are expected to provide the professional tools and test equipment necessary for the assignments they accept.

    \n

    Before-and-after photos are required for every project.

    \n

    When applicable, project closeout will also include:

    • \n
    • Cable certification/test results
    • \n
    • Equipment and serial-number information
    • \n
    • Port and cable identification
    • \n
    • Completed project checklist/work report
    • \n
    • Documentation and photos of unexpected field conditions
    • \n
    Contract Structure\n

    This is project-based 1099 contracted work. Assignments will be offered as they become available; no minimum hours or volume of work is guaranteed.

    \n

    Hourly rates, travel time, mileage, lodging, and other applicable travel expenses will be negotiated based on experience, project scope, and location.

    \n

    Contractors must professionally represent Wire-N-InfoTech while onsite, protect confidential client information, perform only authorized work, and may not directly solicit Wire-N-InfoTech clients.

    \n

    Qualified individual contractors and established network infrastructure or low-voltage service companies are encouraged to inquire. Regional or nationwide firms capable of supporting multiple locations may also be considered for ongoing subcontracted work.
