The Traveling Project Engineer will serve as a key member of the project team, supporting Project Managers and Superintendents throughout the construction lifecycle. Our client is a nationally recognized general contractor specializing in large-scale commercial, industrial, manufacturing, mission critical, and advanced technology construction projects across the United States. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are seeking a motivated Traveling Project Engineer to support field operations and project management teams on complex, high-profile builds.
Description
- Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project operations.
- Manage and track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Maintain project schedules and support milestone tracking.
- Assist with procurement and material delivery coordination.
- Prepare meeting agendas, project reports, and documentation.
- Support quality control and safety initiatives on-site.
- Monitor project budgets and assist with cost tracking.
- Participate in project planning, forecasting, and closeout activities.
- Ensure project documents are maintained and updated accurately.
- Help identify and resolve project issues before they impact schedule or budget.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 1-5+ years of construction experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or related role.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, mission critical, data center, or large-scale building projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and project documentation.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel extensively and work on projects throughout the country.
- Strong problem-solving and leadership capabilities.
- OSHA certification is a plus.
