Traveling Quality Inspector - Mechanical Construction
Various U.S. Locations | Full-Time
Overview
We're hiring a Traveling Quality Inspector to ensure top-quality fabrication and installation on mechanicalprojects nationwide. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills for team and partner collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Review project drawings and technical specifications for compliance
- Develop and manage QA/QC plans and documentation
- Lead pre-installation meetings and weekly quality reviews
- Conduct on-site inspections and testing (welds, bolts, pressure tests)
- Oversee third-party evaluations and enforce corrective actions
- Maintain inspection records, certifications, and quality reports
- Coordinate sampling/testing schedules and support project closeout
Qualifications - 4+ years' experience in mechanical quality inspection (HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal)
- Weld inspection certification preferred (CWI, VT-Level II, API, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical tasks safely
- Expertise in interpreting drawings, specifications, and test results
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel to job sites and fabrication shops as needed
Schedule & Travel - 6-day work week, 10-hour shifts
- Onsite for project duration
- Home travel every 3-4 weeks for 2-3 days
