SITE SUPERINTENDENT (ELECTRICAL)

Position Summary

WIELAND's Site Superintendents oversee the day-to-day operations on the jobsite, ensuring projects are completed safely, on-time, within budget, and according to the plans and specifications. They are the primary on-site leader, coordinating trade partners, managing schedules, enforcing safety and ensuring quality workmanship.

Job Functions

Safety Mindset

  • Monitor and walk the jobsite daily to ensure compliance with corporate safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.
  • Maintain site safety logs, incident reports, and corrective actions.
  • Enforce electrical safety protocols (lockout/tagout, energized work permits, arc flash prevention).
  • Collect and maintain all JHA's (daily) and toolbox talks (weekly).
  • Ensure all workers are utilizing proper PPE while on site.

Site Coordination

  • Recognize potential future problems, perform research, and propose preventative action or contingency plans with the project team.
  • Coordinate and oversee all electrical subcontractors and self-perform crewsto ensure work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and schedule.
  • Conduct jobsite coordination meetings as required per WIELAND SOP and has project demands, but must be held at least once per week, and ensure accurate documentation of meeting minutes.
  • Manage unforeseen conditions and work with Project Manager to track change events and T&M items.
  • Communicate daily with the Project Manager on progress, challenges and needs.

Schedule

  • Collaborate with project team to develop and maintain the project schedule, including a 3-4 week look ahead, while holding trade partners accountable to meeting the schedule.
  • Schedule inspections from authority having jurisdiction to ensure the project stays within the schedule.
  • Develop and manage the electrical scope schedule and identify electrical critical path activities.

Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain detailed and accurate daily reports within the current software system.
  • Maintain a photo library of project progress within the current software system, per WIELAND SOP, that is easily accessible, understandable, and labeled appropriately.
  • Verify that a signed subcontract/supplier agreement and proper insurance certificate is received prior to commencement of work on site.
  • CUI Handling: responsible for safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information per NIST SP 800-171 and company policy, including proper access controls, encryption, secure storage/transfer, logging incident reporting and audit readiness

Quality Control

  • Ensure all trade partners and suppliers perform according to contract provisions and construction documents.
  • Inspect work regularly to ensure compliance with plans and craftsmanship standards.
  • Review electrical plans, shop drawings, and RFIs for constructability, sequencing, and conflict detection with other trades (MEP coordination).
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFI's to verify accuracy and for coordination.
  • Hold punch list meetings with trade partners to communicate corrective measures and plans promptly
