About Us: Overview:
Brightview Senior Living is hiring a Traveling Skilled Craftsman to support the completion of interior finishes, including painting, touch-ups, repairs, and approved non-structural alterations across multiple Brightview communities throughout the South New Jersey and Pennsylvania territories.
This role focuses on preparing apartments for move-in, maintaining high-quality finishes throughout each community, and upholding Brightview’s first-impression standards. It also includes renovations of apartments designated in our capital improvement plan.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and highly skilled in residential maintenance including carpentry, drywall repair, painting, plumbing, and electrical and takes pride in delivering clean, polished spaces.
To be successful in this role as a Traveling Skilled Craftsman, you must be comfortable traveling between properties, within a 75-mile radius, working independently, and managing a variety of projects with professionalism and efficiency.

Responsibilities: - Review and complete assigned work orders and project assignments.
- Confirm all work is approved prior to execution.
- Complete approved, non-structural alterations in accordance with established building and Brightview standards.
- Deliver high-quality work while meeting budget, timeframe and brand expectations.
- Communicate effectively with community teams and Home Office leadership.
- Carpentry
- Read, interpret, and reference construction drawings, scopes, and related documentation.
- Construct and repair frameworks and finishes including walls, ceilings, floors, trim, doors, cabinets, and fixtures.
- Perform finish carpentry repairs and replacements as needed.
- Painting and Finishing
- Partner with community leadership to assess painting needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Assemble scaffolding and set up ventilation and safety equipment as required.
- Prepare surfaces by washing, patching, sanding, and priming
- Mix, match, and apply paint, stain, and finishes, per specifications using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
- Remove old finishes using appropriate tools and methods.
- Maintain painting equipment, inventory, and work areas.
- Estimate time and material requirements for painting projects.
- Remove and reinstall fixtures such as door hardware and electrical covers as needed.
- Electrical
- Install, maintain, and repair basic electrical systems, wiring, and devices.
- Test equipment and systems to ensure proper operation.
- Follow National Electrical Code and applicable local codes.
Plumbing
- Install and repair piping for waste, drainage, and venting systems.
- Repair and replace plumbing fixtures such as sinks, faucets, and toilets.
- Diagnose and correct leaks and clogs.
- Connect and service appliances requiring water supply.
Salary Range: USD $85,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.

Offers will consider factors like experience, qualifications, location, community size (if relevant), certifications/training, etc. Brightview regularly reviews and adjusts compensation ranges.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years of related carpentry, painting, or construction experience.
- Commercial or multi-site maintenance experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle capable of transporting tools and materials.
- Ability and willingness to travel between communities, including occasional overnight travel.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and basic computer applications.
- Basic math skills for measurements, material calculations, and cost control.
- Problem-solving and repair-focused mindset.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in building construction and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work assignments.
