I-5 Design Build is a national design-build firm with more than 40 years of experience creating casino, hospitality, entertainment, food and beverage, and high-end commercial environments. We design and fabricate many of our specialty architectural elements at our Lacey facility, then send our traveling installation teams to assemble and install them at project sites nationwide.

The Traveling Specialty Installer assembles and installs the custom features I-5 builds, including decorative soffits, chandeliers, bar die walls, millwork, and other specialty architectural components. This is detailed, hands-on work that requires the ability to understand how multiple pieces connect and turn a plan into a finished installation.

Successful installers often come from electrical, finish-carpentry, millwork, fixture-installation, or similar commercial trade backgrounds. An electrical license is not required because this role does not perform licensed electrical work. Instead, you may assemble components, suspend features using wires and supports, connect prefabricated sections, and complete detailed finish work.

Travel is frequent and fast-moving. Installers may change projects every four or five days and fly directly from one jobsite to another. When local team members are between assignments, they may assist with preassembly or trailer loading at I-5's Lacey facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and install custom-fabricated architectural and decorative features
• Install specialty millwork, soffits, chandeliers, bar components, and related assemblies
• Follow plans, layouts, installation details, and project-team instructions
• Measure, align, fit, connect, and finish multiple prefabricated components
• Install supports, suspension wires, and other non-electrical mounting components
• Work from scissor lifts and in ceiling areas when required
• Receive, stage, protect, and organize materials, tools, and equipment
• Coordinate installation sequencing with project teams and other trades
• Identify fit or coordination concerns and communicate them promptly
• Maintain clean, safe, and protected work areas
• Assist with preassembly and trailer loading in Lacey when local and between projects

Required Qualifications

• Skilled commercial trade experience in electrical installation, finish carpentry, millwork, fixture installation, or a related field
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to assemble complex components from plans
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, lifts, and installation equipment
• Ability to complete precise, detail-oriented work in fast-paced environments
• Willingness to travel extensively and move between projects frequently
• Ability to fly regularly and remain away from home for project assignments
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform installation work at heights, including from scissor lifts, with or without reasonable accommodation. 
• Ability to understand measurements, installation details, and construction sequencing
• Reliable communication, teamwork, and follow-through

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience installing specialty architectural features, fixtures, decorative elements, or custom millwork
• Commercial hospitality, gaming, restaurant, entertainment, or retail experience
• Ability to conveniently access I-5 Design Build's Lacey facility when needed is preferred. 
• Experience working as part of a traveling construction or installation crew

Pay And Benefits

• Full-time, W-2 employment
• Pay: $42 - $50 per hour, depending on experience
• Company-paid airfare, hotel accommodations, and required ground transportation are provided for project travel. Eligible travel time is paid in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
