Traveling Retail Construction Superintendent – Fort Lauderdale, FL

Trueline's client, a respected commercial construction firm known for its excellence in fast-paced retail projects, is seeking a Traveling Superintendent based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This position plays a vital role in leading ground-up retail builds across the U.S., with full responsibility for on-site execution, safety, and scheduling. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in retail construction and is comfortable with regular national travel.

What You'll Do as the Traveling Retail Superintendent:

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations from pre-construction through final handoff

  • Lead scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and site logistics for multi-state projects

  • Ensure site safety, conduct daily inspections, and enforce compliance with OSHA standards

  • Manage quality control, verify plans/specs adherence, and drive on-time completion

  • Serve as the on-site leader, maintaining clear communication with clients, PMs, and teams

  • Prepare and manage punch lists and ensure timely project closeout

Must-Haves:

  • 5+ years in commercial construction, including 2+ years as a Superintendent

  • Extensive experience with ground-up retail construction

  • Ability to travel extensively within the U.S. for multi-site project oversight

  • Knowledge of construction practices, codes, and regulations

  • Proficiency in Procore, Office 365, and scheduling software

  • OSHA-30 certification or ability to obtain within 30 days

  • Valid driver's license

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with multiple build types: tilt-wall, CMU, steel, and wood frame

  • Prior work in national retail rollout or chain store construction

  • Procore certification
