Description

An established, employee-focused general contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across the central United States is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to join their field leadership team. This is a high-impact role with immediate responsibility on a flagship project in the Southwest, followed by ongoing work across Texas and surrounding states.

Description

As a TravelingSuperintendent, you will work with the Project Manager and take full ownership of on-site delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Lead and coordinate all site personnel, including assistant superintendents, field engineers, subcontractors, and trades
  • Take full responsibility for project scheduling, including short-term interval planning and long-term milestone tracking
  • Manage subcontractor performance, sequencing, and workflow to maintain project momentum and avoid delays
  • Oversee quality control, ensuring all work is delivered in line with plans, specifications, and regulatory standards
  • Maintain strict cost control by monitoring labour productivity, material usage, and equipment efficiency
  • Act as the primary on-site liaison with ownership, design teams, and key stakeholders
  • Drive a culture of safety by enforcing policies, leading regular meetings, and holding all personnel accountable

Profile

For the Traveling Superintendent - Commercial Construction role, we are seeking:

  • Proven, verifiable experience as a Superintendent delivering construction projects from ground-up through completion
  • Additional hands-on construction background with strong technical understanding of field operations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, track variances, and deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Strong leadership experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent practical experience
  • Highly motivated, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
  • Willingness to travel and work on projects across multiple states
